For all of the college students stressing over finals here is a 14 step preparation Guide to get you ready. Best of Luck to Everyone!!!

Preparing for the Final

  1. Find out what your entire final exam schedule is so that you’ll know how many finals you will have on each day.
  2. Prepare a written schedule for yourself indicating when you will study for each test. Leave some time in your schedule for exercise and relaxation, too.
  3. If the professor offers a study guide, use it.
  4. If the professor offers a review session for the exam, go to it.
  5. If you study well in groups, form a study group.
  6. Know if the final is comprehensive (covering everything since the beginning of the semester or quarter).
  7. Find out what kind of exam it will be. You’d study differently for a multiple-choice (Scantron) final than an essay (blue book) one.
  8. If the final will be taken online, find out if you have to go to a specific computer lab on campus at a specific time, or if you’ll be allowed to take the final on your own computer. Also find out how many chances you will have to take the final. Assume it’s just one chance unless you hear differently from the professor.
  9. If you have your previous exams available, scour the exams for things that you think will be on the final. Flag your notes by highlighting or using Post-It notes.
  10. Don’t pull an all-nighter. (Though some people are successful with studying all night and then taking a test with no sleep, I wouldn’t recommend you try it for the first time on a final exam.)
  11. Calculate your grades in the class. Determine what score you will need to get the grade you’re hoping for in the class. You may discover that you can’t possibly get an A, no matter how well you do on the final, but to get a B, you only need to get a few questions right.
  12. If you’re an auditory learner, record yourself reading your notes aloud, then play the recording back several times.
  13. If the exam is an open-book exam, this does not mean that you don’t have to study at all. In fact, one of the most challenging exams I ever took as an undergrad was an open-book essay exam. Flag your textbook based on where you believe the questions will come from.
  14. Consider creating a detailed Final Exam Battle Plan.

Wale's Ambition a definite must listen!!!

With a slew of mixtapes, Wale built a reputation as a witty rapper who delivered quick punch lines. His skills eventually landed him a major-label deal and debut album, "Attention Deficit," two years ago.
But while his first record received favorable reviews, Wale says he felt artistically stifled under Mark Ronson's Allido Records, a partnership with Interscope Records. So the rapper parted ways with the label and found a new home with Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group, and so far, the marriage seems to be a perfect fit, as shown with his sophomore album, "Ambition." Wale's clever wordplay meshes well with the high-energy, well-produced tracks typically associated with the Maybach Music brand. The rapper doesn't waste time showing that on his confident intro, "Don't Hold Your Applause."Throughout the album, the Washington, D.C.-raised rapper shows how his hard work has paid off creatively, with songs such as "Focused" featuring Kid Cudi, "No Days Off" and "Legendary."Unlike his previous album, which featured mostly female singers, male R&B crooners are the featured guests, including Ne-Yo, Lloyd, Miguel and Jeremih. Each of the slow-tempo ballads with Wale rapping are easy listens, especially on the album's single, "Lotus Flower Bomb," with Miguel.Wale also provides some thought-provoking perspective on "D.C. or Nothing." He raps about his concern on how a checkup from the doctor strikes more fear into people from his hometown than the local police.

The Silent Killer Amongst Adolescents

#Suicide is the third-leading cause of death for 15- to 24-year-olds, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), surpassed only by accidents and homicide. When a teen commits suicide, everyone is affected. Family members, friends, teammates, neighbors, and sometimes even those who didn't know the teen well might experience feelings of grief, confusion, guilt and the sense that if only they had done something differently, the suicide could have been prevented. So it's important to understand the forces that can lead teens to suicide and to know how to help.

In order to be successful you have to be "Unrealistic"

Michael Jordan was "CUT" from his high school basketball team., and he told his parents he would play pro ball. was that realistic? NO. What about Henry Ford? He went bankrupt 5 times and then founded Ford Motor company..was that realistic? NO. What about Thomas Edison who believed there could be electricity. was that realistic? NO. He took 10,000 times to refine the lightbulb. What if he gave up on 9,999 time? Everyone has the potential to be GREAT!

$5 a month turns to $60 a year.

As many of you have heard, the rumors are true about some banks charging $5 a month for using a debit card. Bank of America seems to be thr first implementing this transaction. The article is listed below:

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Get ready for a new wave of bank fees. Bank of America will begin charging a $5 monthly fee at the beginning of next year for customers who make debit card purchases.
Whether you use your card for one purchase a month or 20, you will pay $5 per month starting in 2012. It doesn't matter if you select "debit" or "credit" at the point of sale.
If you don't use your card at all, you won't be assessed a fee, and you can still use ATMs as much as you want without getting hit with the new charge. Plus, customers with certain premium accounts will be exempt from the charge.
Other banks have been flirting with the idea of introducing a fee for debit card usage, but Bank of America (BAC, Fortune 500) is one of the first major institutions to announce that it will make this a reality for active debit card customers.

Obama revs up Fund-Raising for His Re-election bid

Cole World: The Sideline Story Officially released today!!!

Bigger names in hip-hop have released albums this year, but few trump this debut. Cole, who's been studying under label head Jay-Z for two years, seems to have learned plenty. Cole World: The Sideline Story is a well-rounded effort, and deeper than most, offering cuts that tackle unplanned pregnancy (''Lost Ones'') and uncertain love (''Nobody's Perfect''). ''It's your time,'' Jay skillfully says to him on the gaudy, dubstep-tinged ''Mr. Nice Watch.'' Cole's making the best of it.

A Definite Must Read!!! New Poem by Eric Wells entitled "Murder Capital"

Murder Capital

In the city

Marked by the murder capital

Screams pierce my dreams,

And with blood strained side walks

Where insanity consumes the minds of the popularity

Pity?

None is learned, so none is given...

With souls down so low

None have hope in the

Book of "Life Written"

So lives are slain

To gain,

Advancement in the

Social 'pecking order'

"Money, Power, Respect"

In the city...

In The City

marked by the blood money

Young men stolen..

Then transformed and reconfigured

To be brain washed soldiers,

Gorilla warfare for

Leaders in pursuit,

Of oddly shaped rocks..

A heavy stock across seas,

So they hunt, pillage and rape...

Women and young children,

Is nothing safe?....

In the city

In The City

White faces control all

Because, white faces mark

The currency

Racism is taught

And learned by the majority...

Jewelry, Cars, Mansions and designer clothing

Are put in place

To tease the minority

"Surely we can overcome and achieve all that we see?"

To those without sight

Don't see the pun....

It's never equality,

Just hide and peek

Sending your whole life

For their materials you seek...

How many are trapped in?

In The City

50-30-20 budget plan.

Today I was looking at various financial websites when I stumbled upon Msn's financial column. I began to read the information and found the 50-30-20 budget plan. I never heard of this before, so I furthered my inquiry. In doing so, the article breaks down that we need to allocate funds for 50% of our needs, 30% of our wants and 20% of our savings. The column is so informative, that it actually lets users have access to a "budget calculator". While there you can input your information from bills, entertainment, and other expenses. After all the information is computed, there will be be a pie chart that displays what you are currently doing with your money, and then another one that shows the 50-30-20 way. I believe this is definitely a useful tip for those who want to become financially literate and one day become financialy stable! Check it out!!!

Retirement

401 k and Ira are a few terms you may or may not have heard about. When most of us young adults(18-25) think about retirement we think it is too far away for us to worry about. Right? Wrong! Now more than ever we NEED to start putting money aside for our retirements! I know, I know, you say, well that's 40 years away
